stemness

Our lab is aimed to identify large noncoding RNAs and retrotransposons that by mediating epigenetic modifications could function in pluripotency, stemness, and cancer states.

Development of molecules for efficient

genome transgenesis

Our goal is to design and build molecular tools that can be used for efficient knockout and knockin transgenesis of the genome, and degradation of lncRNAs.

Production of biopharmaceuticals in

genome-engineered chicken

Our lab for the first time in Iran has been able to produce genome- engineered chicken by genome editing of primordial germ cells. The two germline chimeric roosters has been named “Ghand” and “Nabat”. We have used a collection of cellular and molecular techniques to perform genetic modification of the in vitro cultured primordial germ cells and to return them back to the embryo to support development.
